I Heart Dublin...

well i arrived in London yesterday. Sadly our connecting flight to Dublin was majorly delayed. They told us they are "having technical difficulties" - what a great way to scare the shit out of you before getting on a flight. We were delayed for 4 hrs which was not fun but hey we were in london and had no cause for complaints - although my body was so confused as to what time it was and why i had let it stay up for about 24 hrs.

Renata and I have spent a wonderful day in beautiful Dublin. The weather is much like san diego but their Guinness is better. Such quaint and colorful streets, shops, & beautifully aged architecture. And the people are incredibly friendly which is so wonderful since we are clearly playing the part of two young american girl tourists.

p.s. it isn't cool to be lactose intolerant when in a place infested with so much cheese and milk. I was ordering a latte and asked for soy and the girl at the counter said "what?"

we are excited for our upcomg shows in Dublin. We are perfomring with a wonderful local band saturday night called Earthquake Hair - search them on myspace they are fantastic. Shows sunday, live on Ireland radio 98fm to perform and interview www.98fm.ie Monday and opening for Irelands popular, Nina Hynes on Tuesday night (she is on my top 8 and is also extremely talented). They have been playing our singles out here for a few weeks on the radio station and have received some rave reviews. YEY

i have to make this short becasue we must take off from the cafe and get out to see more beauty. But i will try to post 1 entry a day to give you a close look into our trip.

much love from far off places ~ k

Travelin' Girl

I am flying home this evening to perform a few shows this weekend so I can share the new cd with all my friends & famiy and old school music supportors back home. I am really looking forward to playing Tammany Hall in Worcester since I this is the place where I kind of got my start. Besides a few open mics this was the venue where I had my very first show, and man was i bad...haha! i remember my hands were shaking terribly and I could hardly play. The crowd at tammany was amazingly supportive and i am forever greatful of John Short and the rest of "the late messengers" for letting me come out every Monday night and open up for them and hone my craft. I seriously learned so much there, so feels great to return with my 3 piece band and rockout with new tunes.

I play in Boston on Sunday as well at The All Asia which will be fun. I miss Beantown so much. I am planning to hang there after the show and monday to soak in the historical beauty, walk the streets and hmmm....maybe hit the shops too.

We return back to San Diego for a show at Twiggs and then I am off to europe with Renata Youngblood to tour promoting the release of our new cds. I already know this is going to be a wild and memorable experience. we have already received so much love from the people all over the UK so we are so excited to share our live performances with them. If you know anyone out there please send them my website link and maybe they can catch a show.

ok then, my ramblings have ceased for the day. I must go change my guitar strings so they are fresh and brilliant for good ol' Massachusetts.
