The Unexpected

Hello there my dear friends...

I want to apologize for not writing as much as I had planned on this european tour. I was excited to post you daily journal entries with pics and such giving you a little glimpse into what I have been experiencing throughout my travels.

But sometimes there are uncontrollable circumstances that get in the way. In my last email from Dublin I wanted to share with you the negative part of our trip thus far but at the time just couldn't. Probably because I was in the midst of experiencing it and just wanted to pretend it didn't happen.

Sadly on our second night in Dublin our hotel room was robbed. They took our laptops, cell phones, ipods, all chargers and cords, some jewlery, Renatas passport - even my eyeglasses!! I have never felt so violated in my life. Luckily they left our guitars and merchandise - probably because it was more difficult to leave the hotel with those and not look suspicious. We even made a point to stay in nice hotels (no hostels) in order to protect all of our things. We were at The Royal Dubline Hotel which was recently bought up by The Best Western. And the SCARIEST part was that from all the evidence it is clear that is was an internal employee who made this all happen.

Everyone we have spoken to was completely shocked that this type of thing happened especially at the hotel we were staying at and in dublin and that there was nothing we could have done to prevent it. Just a rare and unfortunate occurance We left our electronics in the room only to go out for a few hours and grab dinner. Once we returned it was all gone. We plan to fill you in with more details once we return but for now I wanted to share that much with you.

I must tell you that we have been blessed to be taken in by some musician friends along the way so we were able to get us out of the hotel in dublin as well as scotland. Renata and I althought ripped to pieces, pulled ourselves together and continued on with all of our shows and they have gone amazingly well. We have experienced so many incredible places and met some of the most generous and genuine people - so for that we are so thankful!

Well i must go catch the train to London. We are looking forward to our last show Saturday night in Camden and finally getting some sleep as well.

Thanks for your continued support.
~ K
