I find it interesting how people seem to struggle with writing happy love songs; I know I do. For some reason we can release the most powerful and heartfelt lyrics most often when we are at our lowest and truly hurting from something. I look back and recount the lyrics of "Broken", "A Noble Prince" , "Far Away" [and others] and I realize they were reflections on different types of "relationships" I had experienced and the downfalls that paired with them.
So recently I took a stab at a more uplifting song that tells the story of a happy one. Not that there wasn't happiness somewhere tucked in these other relationships or songs - but this time it seems I have captured a blissful moment when I was in the midst of experiencing it. Not sure if it is a keeper yet and I have played it live a few times but here are the words. Hope you enjoy.

No Place - March 2006
It's a feeling we cannot speak
It's a moment worth capturing
Time stops, for once you can see clearly
That there's no place you'd rather be
No words to speak, just the air we breathe
And there's no place I'd rather be
A fairytale we only dream of
We find in books, on the screen, and the stars above
We're lying here and I'm feeling you, feeling me
And there's no place I'd rather be
No words to speak, just the air we breathe
And there's no place I'd rather be
So all you dreamers love hard and carelessly
Cuz your busted hearts and broken dreams will mend
This story is proof that you can
No words to speak, just the air we breathe
And there's no place I'd rather be
No place I'd rather be
